We are a small family run business, providing a comfortable and safe experience for cats rabbits and other small animals.
We are situated at Hickmerelands Farm, Sedgley from where we also run a livery stables. Our own cat, Jasper, can regularly be seen roaming around.
The cattery was established in 1995 . We are fully licensed with Dudley MBC and inspected every year. We have appropriate public liability insurance and employment insurance.
The cattery is situated in one of the farm’s barns. We have 16 chalets, some single and some that can hold up to 3 cats. Some chalets have cat flaps which enable clients with more than 3 cats to share chalets and so not be isolated from each other for the duration of their stay.
If your cat has any special dietary requirements we kindly ask that you would provide the necessary food. Otherwise we will provide food for your cat for the duration of the stay.
If you would like us to look after a smaller pet we can also accommodate guinea pigs, rabbits etc. We would prefer if a cage or hutch can be provided but if that is not possible then we can accommodate them in chalets.
We ask that when you leave your pet with us, you provide details of your preferred vet just in case of any signs of illness. If for some reason your vet is unavailable and we feel it is necessary then we will use our own very reliable vet for further advice.
The DIY Livery has been running for over 40 years. All stables are brick built with a tiled roof. We have stables in a variety of sizes that are suitable for horses up to 17hh.
There are 11 acres of land which are used for grazing. This land is sectioned in half to ensure even grazing throughout the year and each half has its own gated access.
All stables have electric lighting. Water is easy to access outside the stables as well as facilities located in the fields.
We do not limit times for horse/pony owners to be on the premises although we hope you respect that this is our home and therefore keep noise down to a minimum.
All horses/ponies are required to have a passport and be insured, details of which will be noted on the DIY Livery contract that is completed on arrival.
Rent is payable weekly, 4 weeks in advance.
